Today, I’m continuing to experiment with the technique of drawing on a dark background—a style I absolutely love because it allows colors to stand out with incredible contrast. This time, I’d like to share a lovely drawing of Jack Skellington, the unforgettable protagonist of the film The Nightmare Before Christmas.
This charismatic "Pumpkin King" always reminds us that October and Halloween are truly special—a time filled with magic, nostalgia, and the classic excitement of going out for "trick-or-treat." I found the reference image while browsing online, and I loved it immediately; it features a "chibi" version of Jack, which gives the character a uniquely adorable and fresh twist.
Working on a dark canvas was quite a challenge—especially when it came to defining the highlights on his pinstriped suit and the expressions on his skeletal face—but the final result was well worth the effort. It felt like the perfect way to get things moving and celebrate this time of year that brings us so much joy!

El día de hoy continúo experimentando con la técnica de dibujar sobre un fondo oscuro, una temática que me encanta porque permite que los colores contrasten de una manera increíble. En esta oportunidad, es el turno de compartir con ustedes este lindo dibujo de Jack Skellington, el inolvidable personaje principal de la película El extraño mundo de Jack.
Este carismático rey de Halloween siempre nos recuerda que octubre y la noche de brujas componen una fecha sumamente especial, llena de magia, nostalgia y la clásica emoción de salir a recibir dulces o trucos. La imagen de referencia la encontré navegando por internet, y me gustó muchísimo desde el primer momento porque muestra a Jack en una versión chibi, lo cual le da un toque sumamente tierno y diferente al personaje original.
Trabajar sobre un lienzo oscuro fue todo un reto, especialmente al definir las luces de su traje de rayas y las expresiones de su rostro calavérico, pero el resultado final valió la pena. Me pareció una idea perfecta para empezar a calentar los motores y celebrar esta temporada del año que tanto nos divierte.
