Creativity is something inherent to human beings. Some people say they are not creative, but it is a matter of daring to start something and explore with different types of materials, play with colorimetry and something very important, enjoy what you do knowing that the chances of it coming out well are the same that it is not what we are expecting, that's how we keep frustration at bay and optimism becomes our best ally, a very important element when it comes to explore our creativity.

La creatividad es algo propio del ser humano. Algunas personas dicen no ser creativas, pero es cuestión de atreverse a iniciar algo e ir explorando con diferentes tipos de materiales, jugar con la colorimetría y algo muy importante, disfrutar lo que hace sabiendo que las probabilidades de que salga bien son las mismas de que no sea lo que estamos esperando, es así como mantenernos a raya la frustración y el optimismo se hace nuestro mejor aliado, un elemento muy importante a la hora de sondear nuestra creatividad.

Speaking of exploring, today I took a chance with a pen decoration technique. And that's what it's all about, taking risks and stepping out of the comfort zone. It's a simple technique, but very pretty and inexpensive and could be a good idea for entrepreneurship. I think I will make some, and it could be for the expenses of the upcoming kids camp.

Hablando de explorar, hoy me arriesgué con una técnica de decoración para lapiceros. Y de eso se trata, de tomar riesgos y salir de la zona de confort. Es una técnica sencilla, pero muy bonita y económica y podría ser una buena idea para el emprendimiento. Creo que haré algunos, y podría ser para los gastos del campamento de niños que está próximo a realizarse.

First I removed the cap from the pen. The one that holds the inkwell in place. Some come threaded and others, as in this case, snap on. With a wire I hold the inkwell back a bit so that the beads can enter. Otherwise, some go in and there are gaps, which does not look aesthetically pleasing. We insert as many beads as necessary until we get close to the edge of the cavity. We must leave enough space to put the lid back on.

Primero retiré la tapa del lapicero. La que mantiene el tintero en su lugar. Algunos vienen con rosca y otros, como en este caso, a presión. Con un alambre mantengo el tintero un poco hacia atrás para que puedan entrar las mostacillas. De lo contrario, entran algunas y quedan con espacios, lo cual no se ve nada estético. Introducimos tantas mostacillas como sea necesario hasta llegar cerca del borde de la cavidad. Debemos dejar el espacio suficiente para colocar la tapa nuevamente.

I chose to make three pendants for the top of the pen. One of them is a leather tassel that they sell already made. I just put a golden chain and we have it ready. The other two pendants, with beads of different shapes, in this case I tried to keep the same color tone, in this case only a variant of pink to lilac and purple. We introduce each bead in a small piece of thread. I used crochet thread. But the ideal would be a nice Chinese thread as it has more shine. We tie a knot at the end and seal with the lighter.

Elegí hacer tres colgantes para el tope del lapicero. Uno de ellos es una borla de cuerina que ya venden hecha. Solo coloqué una cadena dorada y la tenemos lista. Los otros dos colgantes, con cuentas de diferentes formas, en este caso procuré mantener la misma tonalidad de los colores, este caso solo una variante de rosa a lila y morado. Vamos introduciendo cada cuenta en un trocito de hilo. Yo utilicé hilo crochet. Pero lo ideal sería un bonito hilo chino ya que tiene más brillo. Realizamos un nudo en la punta y sellamos con el encendedor.

Once we have the pendants ready, we pass both through the last link of the chain with tassel and tie a knot.

Una vez que tenemos listo los colgantes, pasamos ambos por el último eslabón de la cadena con borla y realizamos un nudo.

At this point, we are about to assemble everything. We put a little silicone on the pencil on the upper part. When using cold silicone, it is necessary to let it rest for about thirty seconds to make it easier to adhere. We make several turns with the thread and cut the excess flush. To give it a nicer finish, I placed a purple button.

En este punto, ya estaremos por ensamblar todo. Colocamos un poco de silicón sobre el lapicero en la parte superior. Al utilizar silicón frío es necesario dejar reposar unos treinta segundos para que resulte más fácil la adherencia. Damos varias vueltas con el hilo y cortamos el excedente al ras. Para darle un acabado más lindo, coloqué un botón morado.

You can place banners and accessories that add a lot of beauty to the work. But in this case I worked with what I had at home and I think that's also what creativity is all about, to take advantage of everything and create something beautiful and functional.
