Hector Lake
Located in beautiful Banff National Park, in Alberta, Canada.
A short hike, on a well maintained trail, leads to the Bow River. Which must be crossed. So the hiking boots come off, water shoes on, and I crossed as quickly as possible. The water is ice cold, and the current is surprisingly fast. Definitely not wise in the Spring or even .....
in early Summer when water levels are higher. Having to ford the river deters many people and I was the only person there on that day.

The sun was desperately trying to come out but the mist persisted.
Once across it's a short hike to the lake and well worth the effort. There is another lake on the other side, but the weather was suspect this day so that will have to wait for next time.
The colour is not edited, it is a glacial lake and the .....
water is that lovely shade of green.
There are some amenities, as a latrine, some firepits, an axe, and Parks Canada has a few canoes for anyone to use, but you might want to bring your own paddle and life vest.
Next time I will do this on a sunny day, but it was still an excellent adventure, and thank you for .......
