Hello Hivers
Spruce Grouse
This female Spruce Grouse is very common in Western Canada. I have seen either a male or female on every single backcountry....
hike that I have been on.
They act fairly tame and with a bit of patience getting close for a pic is rather easy.
One interesting fact, the Spruce Grouse can store up to 10% of its body weight in ...
it's crop. Which is a sac located between its throat and belly. This enables it to....
digest at a more conveinient time, such as while it is roosting.
Thanks for viewing the Spruce Grouse.
