I always get a thrill seeing animals. These Big Horn Sheep were on the side of the road, where they are regularly seen during the colder months. They migrate to....
the lower elevations, and like to lick the sand, salt and calcium and minerals, sodium chloride or magnesium chloride, used on the roads.
The large horns are made up of keratin, same as our fingernails, and are much larger and robust on the males, who use them ....
to batter each other during breeding season.
In the last picture, you can obviously see it is a female.
