馃嚭馃嚫 Margarita Island has dozens of little towns, I still don't have the fortune of knowing them all, every time I visit one I fall a little more in love with the island, but the town that will always have a very special place in my heart is the town of Pampatar.
Pampatar in indigenous dialect means "house of salt", an obvious allusion to the life of the sea, in addition there is located a saline that is a spectacle. It is a beautiful city, it has exclusive residential areas, beautiful beaches and several shopping centers.
There, in the midst of all this, you will find the town, a place that has preserved its original architecture and charm, but it has been inevitable to give in to modernity and commercial activities.
Many houses have been converted into restaurants, art galleries, craft stores, clothing, still lifes and many other things, you can find basically anything. There are still houses inhabited by families that have lived in one place for more than 100 years, several generations have witnessed these changes.
It has squares, many places to sit and enjoy the landscape, churches, a pier, a library, a museum and a small amphitheater among other things. It is a bohemian place, where in the pre-pandemic days, open-air concerts and art fairs were held. I love how in all its corners there is art, beautiful things to observe, such as the light stands on the main road, which have been intervened by visual artists, visiting Pampatar at night is a delight. I promise to do another #WednesdayWalk in this town with so much to offer and an unmissable night walk.
Our walk ended on the boardwalk that overlooks the bay, one of the most frequent beaches. Here are also the kiosks where you can eat the delicious margarita empanadas under the shade of the trees, a kind of fried cornmeal bread that can be filled with anything, but fish are the favorites of my mother and my daughter accompanied me on this occasion.

馃嚮馃嚜 La Isla de Margarita tiene decenas de pueblitos, a煤n no tengo la fortuna de conocerlos todos, cada vez que visito uno me enamoro un poco m谩s de la isla, pero el pueblo que siempre tendr谩 un lugar muy especial en mi coraz贸n es el pueblo de Pampatar.
Pampatar en dialecto ind铆gena significa "casa de sal", una alusi贸n obvia a la vida del mar, adem谩s all铆 est谩 ubicada una salina que es un espectaculo. Es una ciudad hermosa, tiene zonas residenciales exclusivas, playas bell铆simas varios centro comerciales. All铆, en medio de todo esto, encontrar谩s el pueblo, un lugar que ha conservado su arquitectura original y su encanto, pero ha sido inevitable ceder a la modernidad y a las actividades comerciales.
Muchas casas se han convertido en restaurantes, galer铆as de arte, tiendas de artesan铆a, ropa, bodegones y muchas otras cosas m谩s, puedes encontrar b谩sicamente lo que sea. Todav铆a hay casas habitadas por familias que tienen m谩s de 100 a帽os viviendo en el lugar, varias generaciones han sido testigos de esos cambios.
Tiene plazas, muchos lugares en donde sentarse a disfrutar el paisaje, Iglesias, muelle, biblioteca, museo y un peque帽o anfiteatro entre otras cosas. Es un lugar bohemio, donde en los d铆as pre pandemia, se hac铆an conciertos al aire libre y ferias de arte. Me encanta como en todos sus rincones hay arte, cosas bellas que observar, como los postes de luz de la via principal, que han sido intervenidos por artistas pl谩sticos, visitar Pampatar de noche es un deleite. Prometo hacer otros #WednesdayWalk de este pueblo con tanto que ofrecer y un infaltable paseo nocturno.
Nuestro paseo termin贸 en el malec贸n que tiene vista a la bah铆a, una de las playas que m谩s frecuento. Aqui tambi茅n est谩n los kioscos donde puedes comer bajo la sombra de los 谩rboles las ricas empanadas margarite帽as, una especie de pan de harina de ma铆z frito que se pueden rellenar de lo que sea, pero de pescado son las favoritas de mi mam谩 y mi hija quienes me acompa帽aron en esta ocasi贸n.
