My thanks go to yesterday's sunny day, which finally led me to the garden where my healing circle is located. It is a fireplace surrounded by seven tree trunks and a chair, situated under a walnut tree, in the orchard of my neighbour, which lies about 200m from my house between meadows and fields. Since 2011 I had started to build up healing circles in changing places, which were characterized by different themes, depending on the client, i. e. the person who asked me for this work. If there had been natural time-outs in between, this changed when I accepted my neighbour's offer to bring the healing circle into his orchard in 2015.
It followed two active years until I led these to a conscious conclusion in March 2017. I was tired of the themes calling for healing and could say for myself, yes I worked through a lot and managed to get through it, but before inviting people into the circle I need regeneration. I literally let grass grow over the things that had taken place in the healing circle on difficult topics and intensive healing work.
Yesterday I was able to see for myself that animals lived in the place abundantly. One over the other hole testifies to this. Many dead branches of the walnut tree lay blown down. I cleaned the fireplace, picked up the branches and put it on the wood I had brought for the fire. I had my drum with me, including a blanket.
When I'm alone in the healing circle, I love to sit on the chair. Otherwise, it is reserved for sick participants who need a backrest and can wrap themselves in the warmth of many blankets. I lit the fire, cleansed the healing circle with the smoke of one of the sticks of herbs, which I produce myself every year. In spirit I invited the good forces that accompany my work here and started to drum.
My healing circle is a symbol for the heart of Mother Earth, weighed through the elements, connected with the ancestors, the drum and the songs of Lakota spirituality. As far as I name it that way, I would like to restrict it again, because I want to protect the Indian spirituality as such and not claim that I, as a European, could convey Indian spirituality at all. Rather, several spiritual paths converge in my own spiritual practice, all of which I acknowledge and whose valuable work I can see in the world.
On the "red road" of Indian spirituality I have been involved and learned for more than twenty years. Likewise, I draw from what I know and do not know and manifest the healing circle as a nature-loving open space where the participants can find access to their own presence, unlike in their everyday structures.
While problems that so much needed healing have dominated the past few years, I would now like to choose a milder form of encounter, but in the end I do not know what to expect when I open the Healing Circle again for participants. It will happen what happens. But before it is so far, the coming visits at this place belong to me alone and I will gladly share with you how the healing circle continues.
