Hello friends,@kamchore here with another excel tutorial. Excel is a power and easy tool to make calculation, simpler and efficient. Proficiency in Excel save your lot of time and effort. Yesterday I made a tutorial on Goal Seek Function. In today's post I will cover Transpose Rows and Columns in Excel.
Transpose means exchange places. So, in Excel Transpose rows and columns mean to exchange places of rows and columns. In this way you can easily exchange the rows data in to column and column data into row.
What is the use of Transpose Rows and Columns: The answer is simple. If your boss want data in other form. It will take a long time to replace the data. Or if you are working on graph and scientific and you need to plot a graph. If someone send you the filed with data differ from your data sheet.
Learn By example.
You have to replace the data of column and rows
- Select the data you want to transpose. As mentioned by green box
- Open Home Tab and select copy. It will copy the data. You can also use short command "Ctrl" + "C" to copy data. You will find data with green blinking border. This means your data has been copied. (mentioned by yellow & red box)
- Select the cell where you want to see transpose function. You can paste in new tab or any cell according to your desire
- Now click at paste down side arrow.(Mentioned by blue in the pic). It will open few options. Click at transpose option
Transponse looks like this. Click at Transponse and see the magic.
