If commodities are required on a market, there is market demand. A product should be demanded on the market in order to be a commodity. With no demand for it, an economic good cannot be taken out of the private property sphere, where it happen to be created, and it will never become a real commodity. An exchange of commodities is eventually possible because the market demand for one is provoked by the market demand for another commodity. The demand of the opposing parties in an exchange forms the market – not the supply of commodities.
