Oh. I'm sorry to hear you are ill. I wish now you're feeling better. But never say sorry to me for taking a while to respond to my comment. Please take good care of yourself and deal with things in "the real life" at first.
And it should be me to say a big "Thank you" to your wonderful poems and Haiku and your great kindness! It is really a great blessing and honor for me to have the chance of reading your writings and getting your guidance. (Now I can understand this poem better. Davenport was a rich man by slave trade. You treat your own history with justice, which reminds me a famous saying: the real writer/poet is the conscience of our society. )
I really have learned a lot. Last time you told me about what the flaming Christmas pudding is like. It is really interesting to pour wine over the pudding and then set it alight. I've just done some research about it and watched the flaming Christmas pudding in the videos later. It shows that it is a kind of dessert originated from Victorian age. I recall that in China there is a kind of food named 油泼面/oil spilt noodle. When the noodle is ready, sprinkle the chopped scallions, soybean sprouts, salt and a lot of red chilli powder, etc, then pour the burning hot oil over them quickly. In one moment, it looks like the whole bowl of noodles is aflame.
I agree on your view on Marxism. It is true that power corruptes people regardless of capitalism or communism. I appreciate you are so amiable, knowledgeble and open-minded, embracing the different religion and philosophy/perspective. However, I didn't understand Christian and Bible all long until I had a rude awakening a few years ago, which I have mentioned before. I believe most of common Chinese have no idea of God/bible including Haiku, just like most of common western people fail to enjoy 西游记/Pilgrimage to the West, because there is a huge gap between atheism, monotheism and polytheism. I remember I was very happy when I read one of your articles where you unexpectedly talked about these topics. While writing it I reread your opinion about them from " Poseidon and Selene's Embrace". Oh, God knows how I resonate with your opinion in my heart! Best regards!
