Review In Rhyme || All Four Stories from If It Bleeds by Stephen King

To do book reviews, you have to read. And more than 2 a year - haha. You also need access to many books. I will be honest, I do prefer hard copy and did want to swing by the National Library. Unfortunately, on the day I decided this and made plans was the day CMCO (partial lockdown) was declared and I had to 'shelve' the idea til later. So I went ahead and subscribed to scrbd. So this is my first ebook.

The experience wasn't too bad. I am allowed to use it on two devices. I was excited cos it meant, I could read on my laptop or my phone continuously and of course mobile was the preference as I could curl up on the sofa. But after a few days, I realised my battery life seemed to deplete a lot faster and my phone was kinda hot to the touch all the time. I wondered if it was the scrbd app and uninstalled it and everything was alright again. Surely this should not be the case.... hmmmm. Having said that, I realised that I have come to prefer reading from my laptop because I can speedread.

Yes, I am practising speed-reading. And one of the things to help is having your finger or pen or the like to run along your sentences. It helps the eye focus. And of course, works on a laptop better than a phone. So I haven't checked to see why the app affected my phone but if you know, tell me?

According to Wikipedia:

And the average reading speed is about 200 to 250 words per minute.

I am not even at average speed but am working on it. I finished this book with 130,500 words in 7 days. You are supposed to allocate time with no distractions and focus. Call me WIP because I have a tendency to get bored when I sit for too long.

So, I just shared the gist of the 4 stories in the book. All apparently will be made into films in the next couple of years. But, they say books are better right? Hope you liked these short teasers on what the book is about. Let me know.
