I wouldn't really call it a Hack and Slash either. It's an ARPG, or Diablo-clone. 🙂 For a newbie build....... I'd probably recommend a Witch character with minions. It's a very hard game and a lot of new players don't really make it very far, but a Minion build is very easy to make and you basically just stand back and let your little friends kill everything for you.
