It must have been terrifying to have been occupied. It must still be terrifying to know that the war isn't over yet.

I think people still have to find joy and normality in situations like this. From what my mother told me of her life her in England during the war, everyone still tried to live as normally as possible, even though they never knew when the next bombing raid would happen. No one can survive without finding some way of relieving the tension.
