So Hivefest is over, Akademy is over, and I'm still in Europe. Hopping from Airbnb to Hotels is fun, for a minute. But after a while you start missing your home, your bed and your routine.
Here is where I'm at, trying to find a way home from Vienna to El Salvador. Using AI and Google Maps and other tools, is time to get back home. Which is the shortest and least expensive way back.
After looking at some alternatives, it seems the best way is to get home the same way I got in. Using the same airline and route. At first I was looking going through Berlin in Germany, but it had a 12 hour layover in Madrid. Another route was Avianca but it also had a serious layover in Spain and Panama.
One thing I realized is how powerful is to get to Spain to access LATAM, something that sounds obvious but it's interesting all routes lead to Spain. Otherwise trips become too expensive to get there. Even Lufthansa that have a presence in ES don't have a point to point flight.
Another thing that I notice is how expensive is the use of Uber in Europe compared to ES. Something that I was expecting, just not such a broad difference. Uber prices in ES are around 4-6 USD while in Europe are between 12-15 euros.
Something to consider bringing up on my expat events as it seems nobody care to mention such difference.
The food sort of remained competitive as far as pricing goes, but there is a difference nevertheless. So all my friends complaining about the cost of food, I can tell they either didn't expend as much or they aren't aware of the current pricing in their country.
