It's been four episodes on this series and I most say that I am enjoying the show pretty much. The CGI is quite good, not at all distracting and although sometimes you get a bit lost following the mechas, the fights still quite good to follow. The show is about a guy that visit a town in search of someone. While asking around, he faces a gang that is tied to this game, it seems gaming is a big deal and most of the underworld is dealt by bets and loans to participate on this videogame mecha tournament.
The show is not super deep or have some physiological breakthrough, or anything too deep. The game itself is played by parties of 3 and some strategy needs to be have in order to compete, be good and have quick reflects. The game stations look like those scorpion seats that I have seen online. They go for around 5k USD, but they look quite awesome.
The story so far has a team built with the manager of a cafe that is also like a team manager for that videogame. She recruits the guy and throw them to the lions, meaning, have him play with the other players against the local band. They win and the MC takes the first look at the game.
The next shows the team sort of start bonding and having their up and downs as a group, given that the main character is a rookie, he needs to step up with the strategies of the game at the same time that he needs to build himself a reputation. Anyway, is an eSport story and even thought this seem the future, it could well be any story about an eSport team. So it is somewhat relatable with teams that play things like Gears of War or Dota or Overwatch. But the game looks a bit more like Mech Warrior.
