I’m currently in my final year at the university, and when I think about how far I’ve come, I just feel really grateful. My whole journey with Hive started last year when I was in 300 level, second semester. At first, I didn’t even think much of it — I just wanted to try something new, something that could help me express myself and maybe make a little money on the side. I started by singing and using my voice to connect with people on the platform. That was how it all began.
Over time, I started exploring other things, too. I got involved in DIY projects, writing, and sharing different ideas that came to my mind. Little by little, I started building a small space for myself on Hive — a space where I could just be me, create freely, and also earn something to support myself. Honestly, Hive has really been a blessing to me. There were times when my parents couldn’t send me pocket money or when the money they sent wasn’t enough to last me through the week. Those moments used to be really hard, but Hive came through for me in ways I didn’t expect. The little I make from the platform has helped me feed, get the things I need for school, and just survive without having to depend too much on anyone.
One thing I’m truly proud of is how well I’ve been able to balance Hive with my studies. I’ve always been the kind of person who knows how to manage time properly. Whenever I’m free from lectures or assignments, I use that time to think, write, and prepare content for Hive. Most times, I write all my ideas in my phone’s notes app — that’s basically my little workspace. Anytime something interesting pops into my head, I just type it down before I forget. That habit has really helped me stay consistent and organized.
The beautiful thing about Hive is that it’s not stressful at all. I don’t have to go anywhere or follow a tight schedule. All I need is my phone and a stable internet connection. Once I have those two things, I’m good to go. Sometimes, after a long day of lectures, I just relax and write something meaningful to share. Other times, I could be in the middle of studying and get a sudden idea for a post — I’d quickly jot it down and come back to it later. That’s how easy it has been to balance both sides.
Looking back now, I can say Hive has truly made my university experience different in a good way. It has taught me how to be independent, creative, and disciplined. I’ve learned how to share my thoughts and connect with people from different parts of the world.
Honestly, hive has been my little support system, my creative space, and sometimes even my source of comfort when things get tough. It’s the reason I can keep pushing through school without feeling too overwhelmed. As I’m about to graduate, I’m really proud of how far I’ve come — and Hive will always be a big part of that story.
