The whole definition of what it means to be a "conservative" or "liberal" (misused in the US anway as it just means capitalist), have shifted far to the conservative side. The liberals in the us of today would be considered centrists in even so much as the 1960s.

I'm personally totally fine with a man not being required to financially support a child. It's a policy built on antiquated thinking where men were the sole source of income and women didn't work. It's not applicable any longer in society.

Doing that isn't going to stop abortions though, it makes their continued presence in society all the more needed.
