I won't lie, today's tournament was no walk in the park, it was tough. I saw new names in the list that had crazy ratings and the familiar names in the leaderboard seemed to play pretty good today.

In summary sha, I was roasted.

JUST_OLA VS SOUTHGAMER

White commenced with a swift beserk using the opening: Queen's Pawn Game: London System.

Both player were dabbling around the board trying to build solid positions. It was going well until Black made the first blunder by not taking away his knight at e5 which could have ended poorly for black.

However black was saved, probably because of white time constraint, he didn't see the mistake of Black then White made the bigger blunder of moving his Knight to d6.

Black leveraged the situation and captured the Knight and kept pressing till white lost by time forfeiture.

JUST_OLA VS JUSTFAVOUR

The algorithm blessed I and @justfavour with that match we're always looking forward to ⚔.

We had two games together, We played a draw in the first game and in the second one, I won.

In the gif below, I played white and opened with the Vienna Game. I tried to be as meticulous as possible because @justfavour is unpredictable when maneuvering his pieces.

I pulled a clever move by sacrificing my rook at f6, black took the bait and then I moved my knight to e7 and captured blacks Queen.

At that moment, I honestly though black would resign and we could just move forward to the next match but black was very adamant and didn't wanna go down easy. Black kept on playing and almost got his standing back but unfortunately lost on timer.

AMARATHETHUG VS STUFFINGS

This is my first time seeing this player in our tournament and I won't lie, he/she is pretty good.
AmaraTheThug was able to beat one of our top players 'stuffings' .

White opened with the English Opening: King's English Variation.
I found it interesting how white's motive was just to dominate the center and overwhelm his opponent even if it meant making sacrificial pieces and it worked !

It led to an end game between the two opponents and White won by blacks timer running out.
It was really interesting to watch.
