I am awed by the size and space of a cathedral and the atmosphere is usually 'holy'. I was once in one where in the centre a regular service was going on and we tourists were viewing the statues etc around and about. Some people were chatting as though they were in a cafe and I didn't like that!
I felt as though I was intruding......and left.
