Here's a question that came up about profit goals for the month and how I think about that...
**Q: **"Do you have a monthly % growth goal? Few setups a month worth around 2%?"
**A: **"Not really. I don't have a "goal" as I don't like the idea of needing to push myself to meet a minimum. Market conditions won't always be favorable enough to meet the goal you give yourself, which can lead to forcing trades or over-sizing positions.
If I hit 1% profit in a month I'll scale my size down, usually by half. If I then hit 2% profit for the month I'll stop trading.
So they aren't really goals but rather limits I place to avoid getting greedy and giving back what I've already made.
Keep in mind too that I only risk (on average) about 0.2-0.3% of my account balance on a single trade, so not much based on the popular 1-2% risk."
