There was recent news about the son of a celebrity been drowned in a pool of his father’s house. Right now, news surrounding the media shows that there is chances he might survive the incident.
This is Ifeanyi Adeleke, a son to a famous Nigerian music star known as Davido.
It was recorded that the lad went to the swimming pool area with the intentions of getting entertained and refreshed not knowing the depth of the of the pool supersedes his height.
I am not against house owners owning swimming pool but we ought to be careful to carry out the following guidelines to ensure safety of the kids at home.
Do not introduce your child to a deep pool
A lot of people make the mistake of teaching their kids how to swim in their pool at tender age without depth consideration.
This is very wrong, if it’s in a pool that supersedes their height because they would like to try it out one day when you aren’t around which the maid might be also busy. The way children thinks is quite different from ours, they might think it’s the usual fun again lets go have it ourselves without remembering the depth.
Water draining
If you must swim with the kids in your pool, ensure the water is drained to their level before doing that. If you must swim along to the standard water height, ensure the kids are not there.
Barricade your pool
It is essential to barricade your swimming pool if you won’t be able to manage the stress of draining water especially if it’s a home that contain kids who are anxious.
Provision of swimming pool regulations authority
There should be provision of law enforcement agencies to create and regulate the law as regards safe use of the pool especially in houses where kids are found.
