One never knows what is going on behind the fence. Bizarre set of events that seemed only Adam experienced. But for him to be thinly-clad lying in the snow speaks of an oddity going on with him also.

The fact that Adam wasn't at all bothered by the events is another issue with him and the fact that he thinks he's different from the rest of his family. Perhaps that's the reason what is happening doesn't bother him. Is he of the same entity as the apparition he saw, but living on Earth? Makes one wonder.
