Note: I finished the left slipper last monday night and wrote this as draft. Supposed to be publish that night but my my...our signal here super low. The dis advantage living near the airport. I have a video on this project but I can't open 3speak.
I need a bedroom slipper or house slipper. Instead of buying, I crocheted it. Look!
For my materials I bought a rubber slipper then take off flip, I used the sole only and 4ply acrylic yarns ang using 4mm hook for the sole while for the flip top I used 3ply acrylic yarn with 3.5mm hook.
With Gray colorway I started the first Row(R) with chain(ch) 2, 1 double crochet(dc) in the first ch considered as 1 twin dc post as my chain less foundation then add 10 more.
R1: ch 2, 2 halfdouble crochet(hdc) in the center of the 11th twin dc post, 1 hdc in next space(sp), 2 twin dc repeat the process till end, 5 hdc in the edge then repeat process again as you turn till the end twin dc ending with 3 hdc, join with slip stitch(sl st) into 2nd ch of the 1st ch 2.
R2: down gray yarn, pull in purple, ch 2, 2 hdc in each 3 stitch(st), 1 hdc in each 19 st, 1 extended double crochet (edc) in each 8 st, 1 edc 1dc in next st, 2 dc in each 3 consecutive st as turning round of the edge, 2 edc in next st, 1 edc in each 7 st, 1 dc in each 21 st, 1 hdc in each 5 st, sl st into ch 2 of the first ch 2. end.
R3: down with purple, pull in fuschia pink yarn ch 2, 2 hdc in each 4 st, 1 dc in each 15 st, 1 edc in each 13 st, 1 hdc in 2 st, 2 hdc in each 3 st, 2 dc in next 4 st, 1 dc in each 13 st, 1 hdc in each 12 st, 1dc in 9 st, 2 hdc in last st, sl st into 2nd ch of the 1st ch 2.
R4: down fuschia pull in gray again, sl st into each 9 st, 1 single crochet(sc) in each 11 st, 1 hdc in each 14 st, 1 sc in each 16 st, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each 7 st, sl st all the way up to the last st, knot, cut longer and weave ends.
I made the left sole by just copying the pattern for the right sole by following the back part.
I made the flip constructing a shell stitch but I first measure my own foot and draft the measurement.
I sewed by hand the lining...
Thankful with my good eyesight, it is a blessing next day I will be 60 decade plus 3 yrs, I can still shoot the thread in the needles eye teeny weeny hole, at night time!
After sewing the lining, I attached/sewed the flip to the sole on both sides. Then, I placed rubber cement or rugby on the sole, dried then placed the croccheted complete part of the slipper, pressed hard. I will look for shoe sewer here in our area so that the slipper will be strong not easily take off.
At the moment am still crocheting the right part slipper, then, Viola! I have my own bedroom slipper...wearing it, surely can make my heart smile.
