Hello everybody,
This past months I already plan to crochet a top for me for my birthday on July 16 or the 17th. Why two days? because eversince I was young my family celebrated my birthday on the 17th but when I got a passport I found out that on my birth certificate papers it is on July 16th. So, for now I just choose the day I like when to celebrate.
Then I still didn't knew what materials to use. Our youngest daughter told me to try combed cotton, so, I did. My order arrived last June 27.
I just started crocheting the top last July 11, we were almost everyday travelling very tired already when we came home.
Then I realized that my birthday is near so I must crochet it by hook or by crook. This is my inspiration I saw in Pinterest.
On that inspiration the circles must be replace by 6 flowers with 6 petals because I will be 66 yrs old then. So, I started my 66 tops.
A review with the materials, it is nice to crochet because it is a little thick, the only thing is it is not stretchable. I did a 41 twin extended double crochet(edc) consisting of chain(ch) 3 then edc as my foundation ch. Then, granny stitch for the next row whereby making 3 edc in each twin spaces. Next row, ch 2 in each granny stitch in between. I just repeat that process all the way up until row 24 then change color with yellow in row 26 until row 31 back to lilac again until row 38 the last row. This make the front part.
I combined the yellow color because I estimated the lilac will be lacking to complete the whole top.
No matter how I maintain to perfect the stitches I can't believed I missed some this was the time I was very sleepy but I still continue crocheting. But what can I do, I don't want to frogged, so be it, no one will noticed it.
I rushed this yesterday. Today we travelled again we submitted the soil test report to the client, I brought along my wip and continued crocheting while riding the Van. Hubby notice that the top is not finish so he said I must buy a top I like as replacement so I have a new top on my birthday. But I told hubby we will celebrate my birthday on July 17, so, I still have tomorrow to finish the top. Hubby said, "I doubt you can finish that by tomorrow."
Crossing my hook!
Thanks for dropping by...
