Rising very early in the morning, still very dark, he left and went to a desert place, and there he prayed. (Marco 1:35)
We need to have intimacy with the Lord, and that is much more than "spending time with God." It is not reading verses, repeating a sentence and ending! This does not work and you end up abandoning it, because you feel useless and routine. And it is!
Your personal time with God is not a program that you have to follow, it is not an activity that you have to fulfill, nor a strict schedule that you have to respect, your personal time with God is a relationship that you have to learn to enjoy where your maximum goal is to know God, reveling in his word. But we must understand this: I am not talking about intellectual knowledge (that every person can have it just by studying a little), I am talking about the wisdom that comes from above to share with Him, to discover his heart his joys, his desires, his pain for sin, his will, his purposes.
Could I ask myself how do I do it? The Bible teaches me that if I meditate on the word and delight in it, then I will have discernment, that is the way, it is to seek God if you really need to have friendship with Him and if you want to establish an intimate relationship with the Lord, just like that, we will find an authentic and complete satisfaction
There are several reasons for spending some time with God, and all very, very good: Because we were created to have friendship with God. And this time is the secret to a strong relationship with Him, because this was the source of Jesus' power.
Jesus is our model and example to follow; But he withdrew to desert places, and prayed. (Luke 5:16) Because God only uses those who spend time with Him, examples are: Abraham, Moses, Anna, David, Daniel, Paul among others and just as they could be. Because a Christian, in order to have a good spiritual state, needs to have a time of communion with God (Matthew 4: 4). If you expect your relationship with God to be profound and successful, it will not be enough to attend church meetings. And the rest of the week? What ... That's why we need to have a personal time with the Lord.
God bless you greatly.
