Brethren, I do not pretend to have reached it myself; but one thing I do; forgetting what is behind and extending to what is ahead, I press on to the goal, to the prize of the supreme call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3: 13-14
This word refers directly to what Paul suffered in his previous life, but even so, he asked to continue, because what is coming is more valuable and powerful than what was left behind.
Blows and spiritual bruises, pains and internal sufferings that perish not to leave. Almost all of us know what they are, but few know what to do about it. We hope that by magic these hidden wounds stop hurting us, thinking that perhaps when we sleep or with an additional portion of dessert that annoying feeling of depression finally disappears. But it does not always happen that way. However, the healing of a wounded spirit is not that easy. In fact, in the passage of time, this condition worsens. From the past we should only correct in the present what caused the bad experience and thus will tell God to the past.
The reason is this: Instead of leaving the painful experiences and failures behind, we often emphasize them until they become truer to us than the promises of God. We focus on them until we become submerged in depression, for fear of failing again.
But there is a way out. If depression leads to spiritual descent, all you have to do to escape is to take your eyes off the past and put them into the present that will become, a future that has been guaranteed by Jesus Christ through the abundant and precious promises of his word. .
There are chances that at first they do not come easily to. Your mind has probably had years of practice in concentrating on the pace. Like the old horse that usually goes to the barn, your thoughts will probably start galloping in that direction every time you let go of the rein.
Therefore, do not loosen it. Take the rein strongly. Meditate on purpose in the Word of God. Replace the thoughts of the past with scriptural promises about the future and be diligent about it. Then, instead of being a wounded soldier, you will become a conquering warrior that God created.
Remember you were called to overcome and guarantee a glorious future in Christ Jesus, for you and yours. It is time to get up, to strive and approach the reward that is Jesus Christ, in which everything is possible even your HAPPINESS.
God bless you greatly
