It's the time of the year again when the heavens pour out rain and thus making the land soft for tilling. When summer ends, the cracked dry fields are now starting to weaken and rainwater makes them soft enough for machinery to cultivate, some would still use the trusty carabaos or water buffalo. June brings smiles to the farmers and I could hear a lot of our neighbors talk about their "Sabod" or in English, seedlings.
What's so nice about living in the province is how we could see from our own eyes the changes going about with the nature around us. When it's planting season, the tooth harrows are back, it's noisy but we know that this is necessary. Farmers are muddy, they get up early to prepare the soil, we see line paths on the paddies and it's a joy to see, it's a sign that something new is coming.
And skies are super dramatic during these months, June and July when rain comes in the evening and sunsets have a combination of dark skies and dramatic clouds. Walking in the afternoon is definitely a joy if you are a cloud lover or a nature lover at that.
The leaves are back to green again, carabaos are up too! Birds are lined up in electric wires as well and it's also at this time when our juvenile friend birds are practicing their flying skills! I saw some young ones a few days ago out from their nests and hopping from one branch to another.
Soon, we will see farmers lined up on the paddies, with seedlings in their hands, planting them. I'll share more in the coming days. For now, please enjoy the view of our neighborhood here in Bohol.
