Moments with Matti Before the Year Ends

My goal for the last day of the year is to spend quality time with my family. I decided to chill for today, in fact, I didn't even go to the kitchen! Thanks a lot to my brother and sister-in-law who prepared food for the table today.

It tears me up to have thoughts like moments such as this won't happen again, that soon, he won't let me carry him in my arms anymore, and perhaps kissing him too would most likely be a hard thing to do when he is already adolescent and such. The past few days or maybe weeks, I had been very busy with so many things - our church anniversary, Christmas parties, youth fellowships, and even setting up my business so I have to make it up to him.

I am grateful that there's a spot in our house where my husband set up a hammock that is quiet and filled with my mother's plants. It's been a while since the last time we used it. Today's weather was also good so it was perfect to just chill there.

I carried Matti over there and swung a little while he was on my chest. I hugged him tightly, I prayed a short prayer to God to keep Matti healthy always especially for the coming year, to make him a follower of Jesus, and to love God above all things.

It was also my prayer that we as his parents will be a good model for him to respect and love the people around him. In this generation, good manners have been twisted, unfortunately, things are so much different way back then during our time so I pray that God would set him apart and just protect him as well as guide us as his parents to be able to instill in him the lifestyle of glorifying God.

Anyway, as I was praying that with my eyes closed, I didn't have an idea that my husband was at the distance and was taking photos of us. I then instructed Matti to point the camera so his father could take photos of him. I also tickled him and he loves tickles so he laughed so hard!

I wished that this hammock could accommodate the three of us though!
