Voting Power (VP) is a scale to measure your ability to cast an upvote. Everybody starts at 100%, while each 100% upvote consume 2% of your VP. When you reach 500 Steem Power(SP), you can adjust the SP contained in your each upvote to your liking. This is known as Vote Weight, measured in percentage (VW%).
VP will be regenerated automatically at a flat rate of 20% per day.
Think VP as your Stamina Points, that you consumes when you join a party to raid the dungeons (upvoting a friend’s post). Do be reminded that your VP will affect your vote value. So do take notice and don’t simply cast your upvotes and drain yourself dry.
Bandwidth is the allocation of data allowed per time frame. Your bandwidth is determined by your SP, your pending reward on that blockchain and many more. This is like the restricted area in a particular game world, that only open to higher level (more SP) characters.
To avoid getting the “Bandwidth Limit Exceeded” message, you are advised to post good quality post (attracts good upvotes), regularly (so that you have a share in every blockchain) and vote/comment appropriately.
SteemWorld.org is an awesome site run by @steemchiller. It’s a website to check your status, pending rewards, recent activities and many more, much like the character status page inside a RPG game.
SteemNow.com is another awesome site run by @penguinpablo that have a similar function as SteemWorld.org with a much simple interface. One function that particularly stood out is that SteemNow.com provide a standalone page to calculate vote value based on the SP a user provided. So you can know how much your vote worth, base on your SP, VP% and VW%.
Here, you can simulate different conditions by changing the value of SP, VP and VW manually.
The final upvote value is determined by the median internal Steem Price, shown on the upper left corner. All pending reward (post less than 7 days old) will be affected by this value. So don't freak out when you noticed that your post value dropped.
