What can you expect from wakeboarding?
I consider myself to be fit, I do some form of sports six times a week. However, everything I do is with my own body, that is climbing, yoga and (cliff)diving. So what does do for me when trying out a different sport like wakeboarding, where you suddenly have to stand on a board while getting dragged at 30 km/h.
Well.... I basically crashed for 1.5 hours. Yet, I still managed to learn a lot and notice a lot of improvement in such a short time span. Of course I had a blast as well. For me it is really interesting to see how many different things you can do and learn with your body. And, when you think you know a lot, something new appears to show you how much you still have to learn. It it probably impossible to give everything the world has to offer a good try, but I would still love to experience as much as I can.
I went together with three other friends, two had experience with wakeboarding and one friend does snowboarding at least once a year. You can see the snowboarder in the photo above here on his first ever wakeboarding run. I think it is safe to say that if you have any experience with some kind of board sport you will find wakeboarding more natural for you. After 15 min he changed to a jumping board and at the end of the session he was trying barrel rolls.
All in all I do not really think it matters what kind of experience you already have, it is a fun and cool experience, and everybody was sour after. Enjoy the rest of the photos.
