Hello fellow friends in
@hive.ghana once again it’s another great prompts worth sharing. For the 3 prompts we’ve been asked to share 1 or 2 of these prompts. All the topics are great to share and I can lay my hands on each of them, but I’ve would like to share the pressing one that all Newbie would require to know as soon as they sign up to Hive Community. This’s “Helpful Tips For Thriving On Hive!”
“Tips” are clues, guidelines for doing something. So in simple language, “Helpful tips for thriving on Hive” are guidelines Hive Users; either Oldies or Newbies should follow in order to grow in his or her Hive journey. Hive as non-profitable Decentralized Blockchain is like any businesses which have certain rules or principles that Users are expected to follow in order to be successful. Obviously this is not strict rules as we know some Centralized platform have been doing. They aren’t strictly enforced on any User but for the sake of growing our own Hive investment strategies, we encourage all members to follow. In Decentralized Blockchain like Hive we allow freedom to operate since every User is his or her own Boss in the Hive Community.

There are so many ways Users join Hive Community. Among these ways are people join through our various social media like Twitter, Facebook, Reddit and YouTube where we share our creative Hive contents. In this case, the user follow the Hive link to sign up without a direct contact of any experienced Hive User. Yes, we have many people who joined Hive through this means. There are also people who join through a direct personal contact, maybe through a seminar, conference or prospected individual. In this case the person who signed him or her up becomes his or her Mentor.
I think which ever way you took to join Hive is good. Even in our promo system we use so many methods of which what I’ve mentioned above works. But, one major thing which account for survival of A Hive User is the person’s “seriousness.” Even though there are challenges of Newbies not having proper guidelines from their Mentors. But, there are also people who would have proper Mentors but would not utilize the opportunities to learn the good things being taught. In some cases, there are also people who would have Mentors who are Inactive in Hive Community. In this case the Newbie wouldn’t get proper coaching in his or her Hive journey.
It’s normal to pass through little storm and later discover the best route. In that case you’re able to learn it in hard way. I’m a victim of someone who has suffered to find the niche in Hive, especially when I didn’t consult my Mentors at early stage of my Hive journey. I was actually doing what I like meandering my way through. I later learnt the best way and possible strategies that would enable me to thrive. I would therefore want to share the few ones which have helped me till now. I think these are common ones we have been hearing from our various Communities.
Practicing the way to engage your Communities and Hive friends
This is obviously where most Newbies feel is a difficult task. Yes, in some way we may think so, but absolutely not! It seems hard and boring waking up dawn from your bed going through series of posts in your community, scrolling and reading most posts trying to make a summary comment. Imagine if you’re with 4 Communities, you need to visit most posts, comment, upvote and give feedbacks to those who reply your posts.
The kind of mistake I was doing lol, I was focusing on posting as much as 5 post a day. Thinking that would fetch me more rewards, hahaha! I believe most Newbies are also making the same mistakes today. We should rather focus on engaging more Authors and they would also engage you with upvotes and comment. It’s better to have 1 post attracting good upvotes rather than having more posts in queue without upvotes and comment. One thing about engaging more Users on Hive is that, they would keep following whenever you post.
It’s good to follow up experienced Hivians and learn their way of sharing contents. As Newbies we need to follow the Gurus in Hive, the Whales and those with enough Hive power. If possible comment on their posts any time they post on Hive. This is one tip to get upvotes or engagement from them. Hive is a Community of network, we focus more on promoting Hive, so we have various Communities who have establish platforms like Discord in which they share some of the things they do. In order to get more attention from the Community , you need to join the Community and know some of the things the Community do. This is also one way the various Communities of Hive do.

Joining of various Contests and Activities on Hive
One way we can thrive and get much support is taking part in the various activities of the Communities on Hive, such as contests and challenges. There are various contests organized by many Communities on Hive. We may such the one that suit our field using the contests hastags. In contests prizes are sometimes giving to winners. Apart from that, they are chances of getting good upvotes.
Sharing good and Creative content posts
Many of Newbies don’t take their time to create creative content. They either don’t have time to proof read their post or do not find much time to garnish the posts with great image and good markdowns. As I had mentioned, we can follow the experienced Hive stars and learn how they do things. Most of us also write scanty content and waiting for higher upvotes. Hive isn’t like other social media that you can write just one line sentence. Your post stand a chance of receiving so the need to write lengthy but good post.
