I think it is beneficial. It also seems to me that instead of calling it "greed" we could better say "ambition."

I totally agree with the idea of "efficient work".
This should not necessarily be related to investment of resources in technology. Many times human creativity and simplification of procedures exponentiate effectiveness and improve results.
