In Ancient Egypt, they were sacred birds that represented the supreme feminine deity, the Mother, the same one that among many other names, was revealed in dreams to Plutarch, to reveal to him that she was Isis.

After the Universal Flood, they were the bearers of an olive branch, with which they gave the patriarch Noah to understand that there was land on which to dock the Ark and disembark to found a new humanity.

Apart from also representing the figure of the Holy Spirit in Christian symbolism, it is significant to note that these days they are reproduced in such a promiscuous way in large cities that it is difficult to separate them from the urban landscape.

But they are also great transgressors and usually use the patience of other species, such as turtles and freshwater turtles, on whose shells they climb to dry off after bathing and sunbathing, without regard or keeping the slightest standard of respect and courtesy.
