Hello dear @mapetoke, thank you very much for your kind comment and for the photography. Let me explain: it is true that we are still suffering the consequences of this horrible pandemic that is hitting the world, but it is also true that after the first wave, Madrid has been and continues to be one of the few truly open cities in Spain. We have restrictions, of course we do, but we can move with some freedom within the territory of our Community. It is also true that the hospitality industry has been very resentful and things have changed a lot, since that month of April 2011 when you were here. But everything is relative: now the Plaza Mayor and its surroundings have partially recovered activity and although meetings of 4 or more people are not allowed, which greatly restricts sitting down to eat or have a drink on the terraces, life little by little it returns to its normality. If so few people are seen in the images, it is for a very simple reason: because they were taken first thing in the morning of a working day, which is when I really like to walk around Madrid and especially around this Plaza Mayor, as a lover of photography, it is the best time to put certain techniques into practice without the inconvenience of the influx of people. I hope that the next time you return to Madrid, you can have the opportunity to see that we continue practically the same, that life continues, because we have always been a welcoming and above all, resilient people. Thank you again for your kind comment and warm greetings.
