Paracelsus, physician and alchemist and possibly also one of the most brilliant minds of the Middle Ages, compared Fire with Life, on the grounds that both, to feed themselves, need to consume other people's lives.
Anyone would say, metaphorically speaking, that Autumn too, with its waste and its insurmountable display of fleeting joy, voluntarily enters the fray, to procure frames that seem to be consumed in the flames of magnificence.
And that, unlike the other two, he does not feed himself by consuming other people's lives, but rather provides the eternal blaze of an indelible memory, at least.
