Attended many interesting sessions during the past 2 days of conference at Steemfest. Besides the ones we are familiar with, we learnt about other dapps on the steem blockchain and will be trying some of those out soon.

Partiko, esteem, busy, steeve, 1ramp

Spoilt for choices here, there are now so many different UI for us steemians to use. We had been using

@busy on browser,

@esteemapp desktop app on MacBook, and now

@partiko on mobile. It was great to listen to the team behind these apps and learn more about the product roadmap.

We particularly love @partiko. This mobile app is really fast and responsive. Looking forward to see more features for the IOS version.

Steempress, tokenbb

Really like these 2 dapps

@steempress and

@tokenbb. After talking to

@cryptoctopus, I have the idea of using tokenbb to create a forum based discussion group for Japan Travels. Together with steempress, we hope to attract more Japan lovers to steem. A forum or bbs is still one of the best platform for discussions and q&a.

Steemmonsters’s @yabapmatt interview

The founder of steemmonsters talked about his experience in startups and the challenges faced. He spoke about how new projects or companies should look beyond the steem community and start offering products that targets all other internet users. Steemmonsters is one that launched to the steem community, raised funds for the initial phase, and sets eyes on the rest of the gaming industry that is worth billions of dollars. I am really excited with his vision and approach, this will definitely be a huge success not just for steemmonsters, but also for Steem.

This was another great session. The key takeaway was when one of them mention that users do not want to be educated, users just want to use a great product. The more you try to preach to someone, the more resistant they become. Just create a product that is innovative, easy to use, that serves a purpose in solving a problem, and people will naturally come and learn more about it.

Dinner at Steemfest

We were late for dinner on Day 1, spent too much time shopping at a mall in the City Centre. Heard the food was really nice, and we didn’t want to miss it on Day 2. However, Day 2 dinner was only so-so, not that great.

During dinner, @aggroed of steemmonsters came over and asked if we do videos or dtube. Not really a fan of dtube, so we write more than we talk. He asked if J would be willing to help create some videos for steemmonsters. Not exactly sure what he wanted, but yeah, J could do some promotional videos and spread the word about steemmonsters to more friends.
