Welcome dear internet mineral lovers and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, recently I wanted to see an anime so looking on my to-do list I came across a name that made me curious "Houseki no Kuni" which, when investigating it, looked interesting for the combats and premise it raised. Without further ado, prepare your weapons that the lunarians are about to arrive.
Bienvenidos queridos del internet amantes de los minerales y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, hace poco tuve ganas de ver un anime por lo que buscando en mi lista de pendientes me topé con un nombre que me causo curiosidad "Houseki no Kuni" el cual, al investigarlo, se veía interesante por los combates y premisa que planteaba. Sin más que agregar preparen sus armas que los lunarios están por llegar.

Houseki no Kuni was released in 2017, based on the manga of the same name created by Haruko Ichikawa, directed by Takahiko Kyōgoku and produced by Orange, has 1 season of 12 episodes. It is an action anime, the story focuses on Phosphophyllite, shortened to Phos, an immortal life form whose composition resembles a gem, there are 27 others like her with different compositions, which constantly fight against the Lunarians who wish to kidnap and break them to use them as decoration. The problem with Phos is that she is very fragile and cannot fight, this makes her lack a purpose and be relegated to doing a task of little importance; one day, she meets Cinnabar, another gem who also has a rather banal work, so she sets out to find a new purpose that will lead her to have many inconveniences.
Houseki no Kuni fue estrenado en 2017, basado en el manga del mismo nombre creado por Haruko Ichikawa, dirigido por Takahiko Kyōgoku y producido por Orange, cuenta con 1 temporada de 12 episodios. Es un anime de acción, la historia se centra en Phosphophyllite, acortado a Phos, una forma de vida inmortal cuya composición se asemeja a una gema, existiendo otras 27 como ella con composiciones diferentes, las cuales luchan constantemente contra los Lunarians que desean secuestrarlas y romperlas para usarlas de decoración. El problema de Phos es que es muy frágil y no puede pelear, esto la hace carecer de un propósito y quedar relegada a hacer una tarea de poca importancia; un día, conoce a Cinnabar, otra gema que también posee una labor bastante banal, por lo que se propone encontrarle un nuevo propósito que la llevara a tener muchos inconvenientes.

The soundtrack is very pleasant, it presents very remarkable tracks that appeal a lot to the instrumental being something that I personally like a lot because this musical accompaniment is excellent, resulting in a success and applying the concept that less is more.
Es muy agradable la banda sonora, presenta pistas muy destacables que apelan mucho a la instrumental siendo algo que en lo personal me gusta mucho debido a que dicho acompañamiento musical es excelente, derivando en un acierto y aplicándose el concepto de que menos es más.

From the vamos I will say, I am not a lover of animation with CG because the animes that I have seen using this style have given very regrettable results; however, this is not the case here, it looks quite beautiful in general and both the characters and the different scenarios look extremely beautiful, I would say that the most remarkable detail derives from the hair of the girls having each one a particular color and their own reflections that vary depending on the lighting of the moment, being something that aesthetically looks very good.
Desde el vamos lo diré, no soy amante de la animación con CG debido a que los animes que he visto utilizando este estilo han dado resultados muy lamentables; sin embargo, este no es el caso aquí, se ve bastante linda en general y tanto los personajes como los diferentes escenarios lucen sumamente hermosos, diría que el detalle más destacable deriva del cabello de las chicas teniendo cada uno un color particular y reflejos propios que van variando dependiendo de la iluminación del momento, siendo algo que estéticamente queda muy bien.
The construction of the world is quite pathetic, it presents extremely interesting concepts that are explored superficially which leaves much in the air; despite taking into account the short duration it has, there is still very little that exposes in terms of its world and the conditions that produced that it was in the condition in which it is. Limiting itself to exposing only natural sites that contribute very little to the plot.
La construcción de mundo es bastante patética, presenta conceptos sumamente interesantes que son explorados de forma superficial lo que deja mucho en el aire; pese a tomar en consideración la poca duración que tiene sigue siendo muy poco lo que expone en cuando a su mundo y las condiciones que produjeron que el mismo se encontrase en la condición en que esta. Limitándose a exponer solamente sitios naturales que aportan muy poco a la trama.

With the plot something similar to the above happens but to a lesser extent, it is interesting the different themes that it raises because they are building a mystery that becomes little by little more interesting, the drawback I see with this is that they focus everything as a mystery under the box without releasing data little by little, leaving everything for a great revelation; this is good and bad at the same time, giving little information invites speculation and theorization about the future of the plot, the problem with this is that not letting go of anything is something tedious since it does not allow you to build something pleasant, but bets everything on a great revelation. The combats are pleasant, the action with swords is very well achieved making it epic and entertaining in equal parts. The biggest problem is that it does not establish a point to reach, there is no goal to pursue leaving the anime reduced to something without purpose and lacking a direction to go.
Con la trama sucede algo similar a lo anterior pero en menor medida, es interesante los diferentes temas que plantea debido a que van construyendo un misterio que se torna poco a poco más interesante, el inconveniente que veo con esto es que lo enfocan todo como un misterio debajo de la caja sin ir soltando datos poco a poco, dejándolo todo para una gran revelación; esto es bueno y malo al mismo tiempo, el dar poca información invita a la especulación y a la teorización sobre el porvenir de la trama, el problema con esto es que el no ir soltando nada resulta algo tedioso puesto que no le permite ir construyendo algo agradable, sino que apuesta todo por una gran revelación. Los combates son agradables, la acción con espadas resulta muy bien logra haciendo que la misma sea épica y entretenida a partes iguales. El problema más grande es que no establece un punto al cual llegar, no existe un objetivo que perseguir dejando el anime reducido a algo sin propósito y carente de un rumbo al que dirigirse.
This is another flimsy point of this anime, from good to first is the fact that there are too many, and, I am sure that the vast majority will not have a focus leaving them as complete strangers devoid of prominence. Let's focus on the characters that if they are focused, first we have Cinnabar who is presented first as someone cold and lonely being something that does not change a little throughout the chapters, this makes her boring since there are different events that could have made her change minimally and leave her as an interesting character but this never happens; on the other hand, we have Phos, the protagonist, she has a defined personality and is generally pleasant, but with her the opposite happens than with Cinnabar because if she presents a considerable change that seeks to mature the character, the problem is that they leave her as a shell without feelings that always remains cold above all, this is not a development because it directly changes the character completely, it is loose writing and a vague attempt to give it an evolution.
Este es otro punto endeble de este anime, de buenas a primeras está el hecho de que son demasiados, y, estoy seguro de que la gran mayoría no tendrá un enfoque dejándolos como completos desconocidos carentes de protagonismo. Enfoquémonos en los personajes que si son enfocados, primeramente tenemos a Cinabrio quién se presenta primeramente como alguien fría y solitaria siendo algo que no cambia ni un poco a lo largo de los capítulos, esto la hace aburrida puesto que hay diferentes sucesos que podrían haberla hecho cambiar mínimamente y dejarla como un personaje interesante pero esto nunca pasa; por otro lado, tenemos a Phos, la protagonista, ella tiene una personalidad definida y es en general agradable, pero con ella pasa todo lo contrario que con Cinabrio debido a que si presenta un cambio considerable que busca hacer madurar al personaje, el problema es que la dejan como un cascarón sin sentimientos que siempre se mantiene fría ante todo, esto no es un desarrollo debido a que directamente se cambia por completo al personaje, es escritura floja y un vago intento por darle una evolución.
Houseki no Kuni raises interesting concepts, and, above all, many mysteries that should be revealed in the future if given a second season, focusing only on what they have exposed so far I can say that it is a regular anime pulling for bad, since it presents many errors both for its characters and in the style of narrative chosen. All this leads her to deserve 2 stars out of 7, she can improve with a future season although it would be impressive to beat all these various mistakes.
Houseki no Kuni plantea conceptos interesantes, y, sobre todo, muchos misterios que debería ir develando en un futuro si se le da una segunda temporada, centrándome solo en lo que han expuesto hasta ahora puedo decir que es un anime regular tirando para malo, ya que presenta muchos errores tanto por sus personajes como en el estilo de narrativa escogido. Todo ello la lleva a merecer 2 estrellas de 7, puede mejorar con una futura temporada aunque sería impresionante el apalear todos estos diversos errores.
