Been doing a fair amount of HBD conversions...
Over the past couple weeks I have done a fair amount of HBD conversions, where you convert HBD to HIVE using the convert feature found on peakd.com.
I have done this on STEEM quite a few times as well over the years, but it only works when the right conditions are in place.
IE, when the SBD/STEEM debt ratio was below 10% and when the price of SBD was below a dollar.
Usually, for the most amount of protection, you wanted to do it when the price of SBD was well below a dollar.
My personal rule was never to do one unless SBD was below $.95.
Does HIVE have the same haircut rule as STEEM?
Anyways, I just put through some rather large HBD conversions yesterday...
That image was a little smaller than I would have liked, zooming in a bit it's a little more clear...

I am not completely sure how it will work out with the massive drop we saw recently in HIVE.
IE, I am not sure how/if the same haircut rule applies on HIVE as it does on STEEM.
For that reason, do not just blindly follow me in.
However, thus far, every conversion I have done on HIVE has yielded positive results and with HBD trading down around $.50-$.60 and with the recent weakness seen in HIVE, I'd figured I'd give it a shot.
Without finding information on the total HBD in existence, it is difficult to know whether to do these conversions or not... which makes it is a significant gamble and one I am willing to take at this point, but you may not be. So again, don't just
follow blindly.
Are you doing any conversions lately, why or why not?
Stay informed my friends.
