🇬🇧 English Version

Hello, Hive!
I'm a big fan of trading card games, and after spending about a week playing Pokémon TCG Pocket, I decided to start this little project and share my journey here on Hive.

I've been having a lot of fun with the game so far, especially collecting cards and trying out different combinations. It also got me thinking about something: how far can a completely F2P player actually get in this game?

I want to see how much I can accomplish without spending any money. Maybe with enough patience, some good decisions, and a bit of luck, I'll eventually have a nice collection and a few competitive decks ready for tournaments.

I don't know how far I'll get or how long it will take, but that's part of the fun!

There's something else that makes this challenge a bit different. I'll be playing with two accounts: my main account and my partner's account.

Why two accounts? Well, my partner enjoys opening booster packs and collecting cards, but isn't really interested in the competitive side of the game. I'm the opposite in that regard: I enjoy collecting, but I also want to build decks and compete.

I'll use the secondary account as a source of support for my main collection. Having two accounts should give me more opportunities to find useful cards and make better use of the sharing and trading features.

Of course, the main focus of this experiment will always be my own account. That's the one whose progress I'll be tracking and sharing with you every week.

My first week

After roughly one week of playing, here's the current state of my main account:

Statistics
Week 1
Player Level: 18
Cards collected: 710

I'll be keeping track of these numbers in future posts so we can see how the collection grows over time. I'll also share some of the interesting cards I manage to get and the decks I'm able to put together.

For now, my strategy as a new player is pretty simple:
I'm mainly opening packs from the latest expansion.
Every now and then, I'll switch to an older expansion if it contains several cards I'm looking for. Besides getting those cards, it's also a way to collect pack points that I can use to obtain specific cards later.

Trading is another feature I'm looking forward to. I haven't reached the 14-day requirement to unlock it yet, so I still can't take advantage of all those duplicate cards I've been collecting.

Once trading becomes available, I plan to focus on getting some of the key cards missing from the decks I want to build.

For now, there's not much else to do but keep opening packs and be patient!

What's next? – Week 2 goals

For the next week, I'll continue looking for the cards I'm missing.

I've already made good progress with the latest expansion, so I think it's time to start opening more packs from previous expansions. There are quite a few useful cards there that appear in different competitive decks, and getting some of them could make a big difference.

The biggest problem right now is not being able to trade. I already have several duplicates that could help me complete some decks, but until the feature is unlocked, they'll just have to sit in my collection.

This my favorite card s far.

Hopefully, next week's update will bring some good news!

Thanks for joining me!

So far, my first week has been a really enjoyable experience. I love the cards, and I also like how simple and accessible the battles are.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this little experiment develops.
