If you think about it, what happened was kinda like the 'Answer' to the May crash. It shows that what followed on from May nobody really believed in. Everyone is afraid of being the guy who holds the bag more so than ever before because everyone knows how savage a bear market can be. Either the answer shows that we dont have any faith in a rally anymore OR it means that the May crash is finally fully resolved.
