I am lucky enough to come face to face with this woolly mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) fossil which is already extinct 4,000 years ago. This fossil is on display in the center area of Marinal Mall in Abu Dhabi with a small fence to prevent onlookers from touching it. The woolly mammoth coexisted with early humans, but maybe because of the climate change and hunting by humans this species become extinct. Until now, its close relatives, the elephants are also in the list of the most endangered animals because of the hunting of humans for their ivory tusks.
This is a 15,000-year-old genuine fossil discovered in the late 90's which measures 4 meters in height and weighs one ton.
