That debate between leader and boss still exists, and many people write about the difference between these two. Let's focus on the leaders, and how although it's a word with a positive connotation, it doesn't limit the existence of bad leaders.
A leader, from my point of view, is the elephant's trunk, is the brightest star in the night, is the one able to mark a way which is worth following, the one able to create a trend, to support others by teaching, to share his knowledge and to make others want to follow him, without the obligation.
A leader is not the one you go to to solve your problems, or tell you what to do. A leader is the one who accompanies you while you solve your problems, and from whom you acquire knowledge.
A leader is not that athlete with more titles, better numbers and better pay. A leader is that sportsman, who can motivate others to improve, who always has a word of encouragement, who knows how to maintain a positive message, and who is loved by others for his personality more than for his records.
Many people think that a leader should stand out from the rest, from my experience, a leader is the one who should not stand out. The presentation card of a leader is the community he leads, it is those who have him as a reference, and it is what emanates from his personality.

Can I be a leader? The answer from me is yes, the only question I ask is, can you handle the responsibility? What do you want to do with the power of leadership?
During my time at school, many teachers were angry with me and told me that the problem with me was that I was a leader, and people were following me. I wasn't really looking for it, and I wasn't interested. But then I understood the power of this, and through the years and even in college, I got my classmates to support me in many projects.
There came a point where I liked being a leader, because more than asking what to do, people asked me my opinion about their projects; During the protests in Venezuela, many considered the politicians who asked to go out and protest as leaders. But as a protester, I realized that a leader was one who was capable of mediating between the parts in conflict, those who were capable of filtering information and translating it for everyone, able to be so brave as to control their fears, and share that courage with others, able to keep calm and emanate that feeling.

A leader can present himself in many ways, even in a negative way. But a good leader is one from whom we can be proud to follow, whom we have warm respect for, and whom we can feel like someone from whom we can learn.
I was and still am a leader, having my dad as my inspiration. And I know that in the future, I will continue to be a great leader, taking inspiration from those around me, and the communities I am a part of.
