Yes, when I saw those red kernels, I knew it wasn't organic and my head started to spin! When we first started gardening at our old house, I had obtained a bunch of chemical fertilizers for free and applied them liberally to the crappy, mostly bare soil in our backyard which would barely grow weeds, generally ideal growing conditions, I know. That was probably the best crop we had. We had corn plants way taller than me! After that, it seemed like it was a battle each year whilst our compost turned anaerobic, the black plastic didn't let water through and made a nice water trough for wasps, whilst making our sad sugar snap peas look like we were burning/torturing them at the stake. And then...the dread "Back To Eden" gardening method using wood chips, combined with the dressing of leaves underneath prior to putting the garden to bed in the Fall resulted in me taking a sabbatical from gardening, sigh.... LOL for gardening mishaps! We all learn as we go, and some of us just have to learn the hard way, sometimes! I'm sure your harvest will do great, so long as you don't have an earwig problem like we had. Earwigs LOVE LOVE LOVE to squat in your corn plants, and must be forcibly evicted before they build a significant force and launch more and more destructive night raids on your weaker crops. Just saying...happened to us, so.... ;-)
