"I indeed baptize you in water for repentance; but he who comes after me, whose shoes I am not worthy to wear, is more powerful than I; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire "Matthew 3:11

"And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." Acts 2: 4

What is water baptism?

Water baptism is a commandment.
In Matthew 28:19 it says, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

It is fulfilled through an act of faith as a testimony of renouncing immorality, to the sinful world and to oneself and giving oneself unreservedly to the Lord Jesus Christ and to the purposes of his kingdom.
Therefore for the new convert it will be an expression of participating in the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The new convert participates in baptism with an intense desire to identify with Christ in his death in order to live in union with him in his resurrection and for a new life.
In Romans 6: 4 it says: "For we are buried with him to death by baptism, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life."
