Considering that the virus can be in any person and not manifest itself noticeably until it has already infected many, some control sites have been established in airports, train stations and other spaces where crowding is often the norm. Since one of the main symptoms of this virus is an increase in body temperature, fever, massive temperature detectors have been incorporated with the intention of verifying whether someone has a fever or not... impressive, right?
But, let's analyze the situation well, and you don't have to be a scholar on the subject, because in fact I'm not, but, my mind is good at questioning and that's what often leads me to get into somewhat complex issues, but I like to do it.
According to what I remember from when I saw computer science as a subject in my university career, any computer system could be said to be composed of two basic things, a hardware, which is the tangible, and a software, which are the programs that make it fulfill a specific function. Let scholars correct me if I'm wrong.
So, this system of mass control has specifically a function that is to verify some aspects of temperature in people who are being scanned and if it perceives in someone what it is determined to find it emits a signal that will give warning to the people that it is appropriate to act.
Well, in this aspect I can say that if it is someone with a slight rise in temperature as an early sign of Covid-19 infection, you can avoid the spread of tens by putting this person in quarantine, well, this sounds very good.
But, let's be clear, the desire to control some elite economic groups can get out of control with the mass use of this technology. And reach a total control and give free rein to an absolute authoritarianism, from which then it would be almost impossible to get rid.
Sounds like science fiction, but in the same way that software was created to detect temperature increases from mass use, couldn't they create another one that would allow them to know, by reading certain attitudes, body values, different measurements, who is satisfied with something and who is not?, and that something could be a model of government... can you imagine such a tool in the hands of dictators?
These are some of the questions that arise from these changes that are occurring at a global level, while we are all in social isolation. Technology does not stop, it continues to advance, what is not very clear is which way it will definitely go, if one in which we all benefit or only a few.
