His real name is Windel Beneto Edwards, he is currently 36 years old. Although he stands out basically in the Reggae genre, he can also be heard singing Reggae Dancehall.

Influenced by his parents, he started in the musical field from the age of 7, when he was part of the church choir. His mother was an Adventist and his father a Rastafarian.

We could say that his first big success was the following:

Gyptian - Is there a place

Then came a series of albums and singles, including collaborations with other Spanish-language artists such as Farruko and Don Omar, currently well known in the reggaeton genre.

His nickname, Gyptian, is because he used to roll up his shirt on his head and twist his beard like an Egyptian pharaoh, which is why they started calling him that, and then he took it as a stage name.

Another of the songs, whose name represents his third album, was Hold You, which reached number 2 on Billboard's reggae album list.
