That’s true; as long as their own lives aren’t affected, most people really don’t care about what’s happening to you or the struggles you’re facing. However, there are sometimes people who are willing to help—you just have to ask.

As for your question about what I would do if I saw a maniac holding a knife to a victim, I wouldn’t rush in impulsively. especially since I wouldn’t really know what to do, or whether I could actually help the victim or if we would both end up in danger. Instead, I would likely run to get help from the police or from people who would truly be able to assist and save the victim.
