가상화폐 또 한번의 위기, 미국 연방수사국 (FBI) 대대적 압수수색… 비트코인 이더리움 리플 시세 조작 130건 수사 착수

미국 연방수사국 FBI 가상화폐 사기 사건을 무려 130건 이상 수사하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

연방수사국(FBI)의 카일 암스트롱 (Kyle Armstrong) 수사국장은 최근 미국 뉴욕에서 열린 가상화폐 컨퍼런스에 연사로 나와 미국 연방수사국 FBI가 수사중인 가상화폐 관련 사기사건이 130건에 달한다고 밝혔다.

미국 최고의 수사기관인 FBI가 가상화폐 관련 사건사고에 대한 수사 상황을 대중에 공개한 것은 이번이 처음이다.

미국 증시관계자들은 그동안 일반이 추정해오던 것보다 FBI가 수사중인 가상화폐 관련 사기사건이 훨씬 더 많다면 이같은 사실이 가상화폐 시세에 악재로 작용할수도 있다고 보고 있다.

FBI가 수사를 하는 과정에서 가상화폐거래소를 압수수색 하게 되면 투자자들의 신원과 투자 내역등이 수사당국에 포착될 수 있는 것은 물론이고 수사결과 대형 사기사건이 발표되면 가상화폐 신뢰도 등이 무너질 수 있기 때문이다.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has reportedly revealed that it is working on 130 cryptocurrency-related investigations, citing an increase in illegal activity facilitated by crypto payments.

These cases “encompass crimes such as human trafficking, illicit drug sales, kidnapping and ransomware attacks.”

The cases ‘threat tagged’to virtual currencies encompass crimes such as human trafficking, illicit drug sales, kidnapping and ransomware attacks.

FBI Currently Investigating 130 Crypto-Related CasesArmstrong is in charge of the FBI’s virtual currency initiative, which has been around for about three years, the publication noted.

While acknowledging that his agency “takes a neutral view on digital tokens, he noted several pros and cons,”the news outlet conveyed and quoted him explaining that the FBI has noticed an increase in illegal activity facilitated by cryptocurrency payments. “There are thousands of cases in the bureau, so it is a small sliver at this point,”he elaborated.

According to Armstrong, “the opioid epidemic”has become a focus of the FBI as the agency sees “a surge in drug abuse,”enabled by the dark web. Moreover, he claimed that the agency has also “seen a significant rise in extortion schemes related to virtual currencies on the southwest border of the U.S.”

이런 가운데 암호화폐와 가상화폐 시세가 혼조 장세를 보이고 있다.

일부 가상화폐 시세는 오르고 일부 암호화폐 시세는 떨어지는 등 가상화폐 종목간에 시세가 엇갈리는 모습이다.

29일 미국증시와 코인베이스 등 가상화폐 거래소에 따르면 비트코인 이더리움 리플등 이른바 가상화폐 의 큰 형님 3총사는 모두 시세가 오르고 있다.

비트코인은 이 시각 현재 시가총액이 117조 7626억원을 지나고 있다. 비트코인 개당 시세는 692만5000 원이다. 비트코인은 전일대비 2만5000 원,비율로는 0.36 % 올랐다.

이더리움 시가총액은 49조 1601억원을 통과하고 있다. 이더리움 1코인당 시세는 49만4500 원이다. 이더리움은 전일대비 3,500 원, 비율로는 0.71 % 상승한 상태이다.

리플 시가총액은 20조 3062억원으로 조금 늘고 있다. 리플 의 개당 시세는 523 원이다. 리플은 전일대비 2 원, 비율로는 0.38 % 오른 상태이다.
