Alibaba is the international electronic commerce portal that has completely revolutionized the industry, becoming a key part of the Chinese economy. Despite what we could believe in Jack Ma the founder of alibaba had to go through many setbacks and failures in his life, before becoming the richest man in Asia. He never had economic facilities or great influences to help him undertake his projects, was born in a humble family and from an early age it was clear that Jack was not a good student, especially had great difficulties with subjects such as mathematics; it cost him a lot to finish both his primary and secondary studies and he was rejected twice in college.

During his adulthood he had to face the NO on many occasions, in his job search was rejected about 30 times in different jobs, all these circumstances were enough to discourage and sink any person but not for Jack Ma; even in those moments Jack maintained a spirit of overcoming and perseverance showing an extremely reclining character. Although his studies were not his strength if there was a subject that was especially good English, so he decided to become an English teacher in exchange for a salary of $ 12 per month, but Jack was passionate about what he did and although the remuneration was very low, he put all his energy into it. His abilities with that language allowed him to travel to several places including the United States which determined that he became a receptive person with a global vision of the world.

Around the 90s the Internet industry and web pages exploded, however in China this technology was not so present and thanks to his travels Jack knew this market better since he was more present in countries that he had already visited, he started to offer to help Chinese businesses and businesses to open their own web pages by translating them into English to improve their relations with the United States and other countries of the world. In 1995 excited about what the Internet could offer not only to companies but to the Chinese economy, he decided to create his first project entirely focused on this new technological world that had come to stay. I designed a web portal that would be like a Chinese version of the yellow pages that we know, where I grouped a whole directory of Chinese businesses.

As often happens with many ideas of many entrepreneurs did not have much success and just failed to fail but had already got a foot in the world of the Internet and had obtained a valuable amount of knowledge of that first attempt, of course did not give that to Jack It was just the beginning.

During the following years he did not lose his spirit he was determined to achieve great things not only for himself but for the world in general, aware of the great economic potential that his country had believed that the internet was a perfect solution to facilitate relations between Chinese manufacturers and international companies, decided to create a web portal that would serve as a showcase so that Chinese businesses could present and sell their merchandise without having to have their own website, and also function with a rating system for sellers thus allowing a transaction much more reliable.

Alibaba began to develop with 17 friends of Jack and began to work in 1999, the idea attracted a lot of attention and soon several investors became interested and bet on the project, but this web page of electronic commerce needed one more element, taking into account that Most people in China did not have a credit card, they had to find a solution so that everyone could buy on Alibaba. This is how Alipay was born, similar to Paypal, which allowed transactions to be made through a virtual account, and the money did not leave the customer's account until the client received the package, which seemed to be not, but a key factor at that time, since the Internet world was relatively new and people did not feel very safe with making such transactions.

Around 2003 Ebay acquired Eachnet a Chinese comed company with it saw its opportunity to penetrate the Chinese e-commerce market but Alibaba was not going to make things so easy, taking advantage of its reputation and the name acquired in its own country. a service called Taobao very similar to that of Ebay in which the transactions were carried out between the consumers themselves through direct sales and auction, to attract customers offered free cups for 3 years which was a succulent offer since Ebay was working tariffs for selling objects through its service, this gave TAobao a competitive advantage and from that moment a raw battle of marketing between both companies began to see who was definitively consolidating in the Chinese market.

In 2005 Yahoo invested one billion dollars in exchange for 40% of Alibaba although this helped to increase the popularity of the portal and in the long run both companies would have non-conformities. Yahoo had a short-term business vision that clashed with the long-term vision of Jack Ma and his team and a few years later Alibaba would recover the shares sold to Yahoo. Around 2006 it was already clear who dominated the comed market in China, EBay had stepped aside and Alibaba had the way to grow without stopping.

In 2014, Alibaba is become in a big business and being a major online store in the world, Jack Ma decided that it was an important time to go public and its public offering was 25 billion dollars, making it the biggest stock market release of the History of Wallet Street, without a doubt the evolution of the company of Alibaba has been incredible during all its years of history but perhaps it would not have reached that point but for the great work of the team and its employees who have been responsible for build the great success of the company; Jack Ma knows this and he is also aware that a happy employee who feels part of the project is much more productive and he recognizes that dreams go further when working as a team, that is why over the years It has strived to establish a close relationship with its workers away from the serious image usually shown by other Chinese managers and always showing its most sympathetic and human face.

It is not unusual for this Chinese magnate to appear dancing and singing at the annual festivities that the company celebrates for its employees. Jack Ma and his team managed to create a new concept of wholesale e-commerce when the internet was still in its initial phase but they believed in their potential and hit the nail on the head, Alibaba is the proof that you can build a big business starting from very little without large amounts of start-up capital or big influences.
