In death, we mostly bear regrets rather than face square consciousness of our lives. It's like we take nonentity and the lack of depth that comes with death rather than understanding that we'd eventually die one day and hence make more meaning to our lives.
In this video I talk about how humans glorify death by uniting to mourn people rather than uniting to make meaning to the lives of these same people when they're alive. Some people who are terrible people become saints when they're dead and people godify them, that make them matyrs therefore glorying the essence of death.

(Don't engage based on what you've read alone as this is just the tip of the iceberg, the video will eventually enlighten you more.)
